FAQ

1 / Will you file taxes?

No, we do not aid in filing any taxes. This is something you need to handle yourself or hire a CPA to do on your behalf.

2 / What do you charge for services?

Our basic bookkeeping is $50.00 per hour and our Comprehensive Bookkeeping is $60.00 per hour.

Any other services available do not have an additional charge if they are bundled with the Comprehensive Bookkeeping Service.

3 / Do you offer discounts?

Yes and no. While we do not offer discounts in the traditional sense, we do have a separate service agreement. New clients are not able to sign up for this option for the first three months. This option comes with a one year contract and a minimum amount of hours guaranteed based on our average during the initial three month period. We would provide the same services at a discounted rate per rate, with a minimum number of hours you must pay. It is not recommended for business with less than 10 hours needed per month as we do require a 10 hour per month minimum and to keep it fair, all companies enrolled in this plan have to enroll based on their average (ex. if we averaged 5 hours per week, you would be required to sign up for 20 hours per month).

4 / How does your process work?

Typically you would fill out the form. Once the form is received, someone from our team will reach out via email with additional questions and to set up a time for a free consultation and virtual meeting.

During this meeting we will determine if we're a good fit not only for your business, but if you're a good fit for ours.

This meeting will also discuss specifically what you're looking for, pricing and within a few hours of the meeting if all parties are in agreement you'll receive our Bookkeeping Service Agreement.

Once the agreement is electronically signed, our team will work on setting your business up in our system and obtaining access based on information provided and job duties we will be performing.

Traditionally all on-boarding is handled by our owner personally. During the initial 30 days she will track how long it takes to do what was agreed upon, work on an in-house process and protocol for your business as well as setting up anything else needed for your business and ours to work together. ***if corrections are needed; if you're coming to us with books that aren't accurate or you know they're messed up the correction process will happen prior to any processes, procedures and protocols being set up for continued services.

Once all of this is completed, you'll have a dedicated account manager you will work with going forward.

6 / What is the Service Agreement and how long is it?

Our basic service agreement is a month to month for anyone who signs up. Therefore you could use us short term or long term. It automatically renews every month and to terminate you simply need to provide a 30 day notice written notice. This allows us to finish up anything we're working on for you and send a final invoice.

We also have a Guarantee Service Agreement. As stated earlier this agreement is only offered to clients who are large enough to require a minimum of 10 hours per month. This agreement is a one year agreement as we will be providing the services at a discounted rate with a certain amount of hours. This agreement auto renews as well unless you provide a 30 day written notice prior to the renewal date.

5 / What is difference between hiring your company vs hiring a bookkeeper in-house?

For most small businesses you do not need a bookkeeper/payroll personnel full-time. The average is anywhere between 3 hours per month to 15 hours per week depending on both company side and industry.

While you can hire an "Office Manager" which is what most small companies do, most office managers do not have the background or expertise in bookkeeping, payroll or accounting. While they can typically learn or self educate on the basic, it does not mean you will get the full potential of an experienced bookkeeper to provide accurate records.

On the flip side, it's hard to find experienced bookkeepers who are willing to work so little hours. So you're left with either paying someone for hours not needed (which isn't just wages, you also have payroll taxes, workers compensation and usually benefits of so sort) OR you're left with giving the job duties to someone who doesn't fully understand or know what they're doing which can be catastrophic for any business.

7 / Will you provide training to our bookkeeper?

Short answer is no. We are not in the business of training your personnel to handle your bookkeeping and payroll needs. We are not a certified school nor training center either.

On the flip side, if you hired us to set up your books and manage the bookkeeping then your business either grew to need someone full time or you decided you wanted to take it on yourself, we would NOT train anyone on how to be a bookkeeper, but we would provide all processes/procedures on what we managed for your business and anything we created for your business would be turned over during the exit interview which would provide you with everything you need. If you hired an experienced bookkeeper they would be able to take this documentation and handle your books going forward. If you as the owner have some understanding in bookkeeping you'd be able to do it as well.

8 / Will you work for large businesses?

No. Remote Bookkeeping Services is set up to cater to small businesses in order to provide professional services which are easier obtained in larger businesses.

This does not mean, if you started working with us and your business grew that we would dump you as a client. If this were to happen, we would have a conversation with you, the owner, and discuss the pros and cons of either staying with us or hiring someone full time under your payroll. This decision varies by want and need and is mainly a preference. Some business owners love having contractors as employees vs in-house employees. Other times it may benefit your business to have personnel on payroll due to the size you've grown to. The decision is ultimately yours, but if you're a large business we will not offer our services out the gate.
